Word study is like spelling but in a different way. What is word study? Well we are going to tell you! Word study is when our whole class splits into groups. The easy group, the medium group, and the hard group. (Actually, Miss B. determined our group based on a spelling assessment at the start of the year). Each group is taught a lesson on a particular rule or concept in spelling, we will get different words and study them for a week. We have different activities that we complete each day of the week so we get practice using the words. Then on Friday we will have a test. On Monday we will get new words and do the same thing again.
