Mystery Reader Today…Revealed!
All week we’ve been guessing who may be our next mystery reader and today we finally found out who came to read to us…Luca P’s mom!
We are always grateful when mystery readers can take time out of their busy schedules and come and visit our classroom.
Today Mrs. P read a book to us called The Invisible Boy by Trudy Ludwig. It is a beautifully written and illustrated story about a boy named Brian who felt like nobody noticed him or included him in anyway. That is, until a new boy named Justin arrives to class and is the first person to reach out and see Brian as a friend.
We engaged in some great conversation such as making connections to the book (when have we experienced the same feelings as Brian?) what we can do to help others feel included, and more.
If you haven’t read this book, please go to your library and sign it out. It’s such a lovely story of acceptance, inclusion, and friendship.
What can we do to make sure others feel included?
Mrs. Sullivan made a connection to a recent visit from a group called The Kids on the Block who brought puppets to our school to teach us messages about bullying and inclusion. We’ve been learning a lot about kindness and how important it is to feel included and help others feel the same way. One of our other mystery reader books Each Kindness addressed this issue as well.
Thank you Mrs. Sullivan and grade 3s and 4s! You all made me feel so welcomed! It was a pleasure to share this lovely book with you!
We loved having you! Thank you once again for your time and fantastic reading skills!
