Biography Presentations

Our biography presentations were wonderful to watch and listen to! We all enjoyed learning about the various heroes, athletes, musicians, scientists, doctors, and others who have inspired us.

What is a biography?

A biography is a nonfiction story of a real person’s life. It’s written by someone else and highlights their childhood, achievements, and challenges.

Congratulations Grade 3s on a job well done!

It was an absolute pleasure working with Megan on her biography project. We explored various celebrities and she chose Serena Williams.

We did a library search for books and i ended up listening to a whole audiobook throughout a week. We also listened to an episode in Serena and Venus’s podcast- Stockton Street, and watched a video on her life. We had to track down the racket brand that Serena held when she won her first grand slam and procured it. I left her to put her information together but i did a mock presentation with her closer to the presentation day.

On the morning of her presentation, one of her aunts who is also a Serena fan and a lawn tennis player sent Megan a good luck video which we played while she was waiting for the school bus.

I learned things about Serena that i had not known before, and derived a lot of pleasure on collaborating on this project.
