Number 8 is the Big Leaf Mahogany.

Number 7 is the Hawksbill turtle.

Number 6 is the Alligator snapping turtle.

Number 5 is the goldenseal.

Number 4 is the Big Leaf Mahogany

In number 3

In number 2 the

Giant Panda

And in number 1 the

White rhino.

Why is there even a top ten list!? there should not even be a top 5. this is sad we need to help the animals because if we did not have dogs or cats what animal would we have to love and hold. We need to stop cutting down trees. We need to stop killing animals it just has to stop.

Happy Valentines

Getting into that Valentines spirit?  Hearts are all around and cupid’s arrows are doing their valentines magic!  Red, pink and maybe even purple decorations are being put up today all around you.  Ah, yes Valentines day the only day of the year to celebrate love.  It is also the day named after the feast day of Saint Valentine.  Every year on February 14th many people exchange candy, flowers, gifts and cards with their “valentine.” Be sure to tell that special someone how you feel!!!

Canadian Athletes

Canadian athletes spend countless hours training for the Olympics. What Canadian athletes perform looks unreal, from doing a 1080 turn on a snowboard, to gliding smoothly across the ice as a figure skater, Canadian athletes do it all! Many Canadian athletes bring home lots of medals to share with their home country, Canada. I think Canada is going to do amazing in the 2014 Winter Olympics, because the Canadian athletes train so hard in all sports. Bring home the gold Canada!

Frank The Tank

FRANK THE TANK

Frank is my dog. Frank is a boy. He is a rottweiler and a mastiff mix. Frank is 5 months old. He is 65 lbs and is a brown- grey colour. I got him in early december when he was about 9 weeks old. Frank had 6 brothers and sisters. When we got him there was only 2 dogs left, him and his brother. No one wanted them because (the runt) his brother was the smallest of the litter and Frank was the biggest of the litter. Franks name before we got him was tank. but we wanted a person name so we called him frank because it rhymes with tank. Frank has huge paws they are about the size of a hamburger. Frank will weigh about 120 lbs when he is full grown. Franks tail is really big. Frank has the best eyes ever. They are a blue- green colour. Frank will live for about 7 years.

Do you have a dog and if so what kind of dog?

Final steps of art

Last Wednesday we were finishing the last steps of our print making art with artist Jen Hamilton. For the last few weeks we have been carving rubber blocks, adding ink over the rubber and placing it on paper, making that colour show on the paper. Next,we carved out the section were we wanted that colour of ink and started the process over again. This process has taken many weeks and is now coming to a finish.

We are all very proud of our work and are getting very good feedback and reviews about our creations. The lady in charge of the program named Catherine, says that our pieces are turning out very good and we are working very independently. She also said that out of all the kids she has seen do this process we did the best. I am very proud of my work, and if you were to see them you would be BLOWN away.

Would you like to try print making? Why or why not?

KATE SPADE!

You are probably wondering who Kate Spade is. Well you didn’t let me tell you yet so of course you don’t know unless you knew before. Kate Spade is a famous designer who designs things such as purses, clothing, and other accessories. I found out about her over the Christmas break a couple of years ago when my family and I went to the U.S shopping. I was walking by and noticed this store called Kate Spade and  decided to go in. The reason I wanted to go in the store so badly was because the store was really colourful. Everything was colourful! I bought a really nice red wallet when I was there and ever since then I always have wanted to go. I went back again not to long ago and got some more Kate Spade stuff. Now a few weeks ago I went into Chapters the book store and I noticed this table that looked really colourful and stood out a lot. When I went to check it out I noticed it was all Kate Spade! Chapters had gotten Kate Spade merchandise (not like purses and that stuff but notebooks and other cool gadgets)! I was so exited! I love all the stuff from Kate Spade and hope you check it out sometime as well (I kind of meant the girls in case you were wondering boys)!

Check out some of her stuff and tell me what you think?

The Winter Olympics Rule!

The Winter Olympics is one of the most important events of the year.  It is when all the best athletes [from pretty much every country] come to compete in lots of different events to see who is the best.

The events in the Winter Olympics are Luge, Skeleton, Ice Hockey, Freestyle skiing, Biathlon, Bobsleigh, Curling, Figure Skating, Snowboarding, Skiing Cross-Country, Ski Cross, skiing alpline, Speed Skating, Ski Jumping, and Skiing-Nordic Combined.

The first Winter Olympics were in Chamonix, France in 1924.  At that time there were only a few sports you could compete in so it would be very hard to make the team.  Did you know that there were only 12 country’s in the first Winter Olympics?  That’s crazy!  There have been 23 Winter Olympics games hosted by 18 different cities.

If you have been watching the 2014 Winter Olympics Germany has won the most gold medals[5] but, Norway has won the most medals with 12.

Who do you think will win the most medals in the 2014 Winter Olympics?

Upcoming Showcase

I’m so pumped to be a part of this year’s showcase. Showcase is a recital for competitive dancers to show what skills they have been learning the whole year. My  showcase is coming up this weekend. My dance has been coming together and is looking great. I’m excited to show the audience what a great team we are and how hard we have worked on this dance. I feel that Showcase is also like a practice for the competitions, so your ready for the competitions (in my case, I’m never ready)!!!!!

Dancing rocks!!! Do you like to dance– why or why not ?

Why I think hockey is the best olympic sport!

I think that hockey is the best Olympic sport because you never know what might end up happening.

For example the score could be 8-0 in the first quarter but in the end it could be 8-15.

You can never predict what the end score will be!

That’s why I think hockey is the best winter Olympic sport!Photo Credit: kennymatic via Compfight cc
