Our Word Study routine continues and today we reviewed what a Monday night word sort looks like. Some students seem to have fallen into a habit of merely copying down the sort we did in class together instead of sorting words first.

Today, Mrs. Sullivan reviewed again what it looks like when done properly. She demonstrated step-by-step what it looks like and sounds like. It is important we shuffle the cards and start with laying the categories learned in class at the top. Reading each word and knowing where to place each word is much more effective than just copying words down. Once all the words are sorted correctly, writing them down in the notebook comes last.
