Another school year is upon us and today marks the first day of the 2017-2018 year. I am delighted to be a grade 3 teacher this year and can’t wait to greet and get to know all the wonderful young minds in my class.
A new school year comes with a variety of emotions, doesn’t it? Not just for students, but for parents and teachers alike! We might feel nervous, excited, worried, anxious, but hopefully happy. Usually by the end of the day, any feelings of nervousness get washed away and are replaced with joy and ease.
Today we will be reading a book familiar to some of you perhaps. It is called First Day Jitters by Julie Danneberg and explores the reluctance of a character named Sarah Jane to attend school on the first day. Ask your child tonight about the surprise ending!
We’re off and running! Welcome to our class blog where we will be sharing our learning with you 🙂
