In our class we have been learning about First Nations. We are starting to prepare to make some art using First Nations masks as inspiration. We looke at pictures of  different first nation masks and tired to get an idea what we wanted our masks to look like. I want my mask to look like a king eagle.

If you were making a paper mache mask, what would you make it into?

Paper mache is when you blow up a balloon, get watery glue and strips of newspaper. Then glue the newspaper onto the balloon. When you are finished you pop the balloon and turn it into a first nation masks. You can paint it, add decorations to it or do anything you want with it.

Stay tuned for more pictures as we begin the process of making our masks!

Here’s a video of using paper mache to make a Nemo!
